Introduction

Hello, my dear readers and loyal followers!

Today, I have dedicated this article to a serious and important topic: Writers Beware of the Scammers After your Money here on Medium.

I’m unsure if you’ve had such experiences or encountered this type of person on this platform, but I’d like to share my experiences and thoughts with you and warn those who haven’t yet encountered a scammer on Medium.

I don’t understand why these people engage in this kind of fraud and crime, as it requires a lot of effort and time, and the amounts they try to steal from us aren’t that significant.

Perhaps it’s about the number of scams they perform, so if they execute many, the earnings proportionally increase, making it a numbers game.

In my opinion, scammers would be better off spending all that effort and time on something useful, like writing content or any other online job, earning money legally without harming anyone.

Of course, this is just my opinion and surely won’t inspire any scammer to have a change of heart and accept my advice. But I believe it’s not just about the money; it’s also about the adrenaline rush that theft and fraud give to this type of person, the excitement that occurs in their heads due to the impending criminal act.

How does the scam work?

From my experience with these scammers, I see that they mostly prey on people’s egos, greed, and inexperience in the online world.

The first thing they do is find someone with a fairly large following who is well-known in the Medium community and steal their profile picture and name.

Then they create a similar profile with the same picture and a very similar name and start looking for potential victims, who are usually new to the platform or in the early stages of building their name and brand on Medium.

You can notice the difference between the real profile and the fake one by the number of followers because the fake profile usually doesn’t have any or very few followers.

The first time I encountered such a despicable human being, I had no idea what was happening and a guide like this would have been very useful to help me fend off the scammer’s attack.

Unfortunately, I was completely alone then, and only my natural caution and suspicion towards anyone asking for money upfront saved me from losing money.

One person I knew, who had a considerable following and with whom I had communicated before, wrote a very nice comment on one of my articles and, as a cherry on top, invited me to join a community of new talented writers on Telegram.

I felt great and honored by the invitation to this special group of writers and, without much thought, I looked for the person or group on Telegram and joined them immediately.

The usual communication on Telegram started, getting to know each other and introducing the group’s rules in which I was supposed to participate. Everything seemed so wonderful, like a dream come true, just what I needed.

The group offered mentorship in writing and assistance at every step, but most importantly, it promised the possibility of earning a lot of money quickly through writing articles for various clients.

When they introduced me to everything that would happen in the group and of course, emphasized the potential for significant earnings from writing, and praised me as a writer, they asked me to pay a small fee of $100 to participate in the group.

The moment they asked for money upfront, without me signing anything making any agreement, or speaking with any responsible managers in the HR department, a red flag went off in my mind, signaling a warning.

I immediately remembered the old saying that if something seems too good to be true, it usually isn’t, but rather a scam.

Coupled with the request for money upfront and all the other red flags in my mind, I concluded that this whole affair was highly suspicious and most likely a scam.

I asked the person on Telegram to connect me with the HR department of that writing agency and posed a series of unpleasant questions for him, to which he had no real answers.

Of course, there was no HR department, and he had thousands of excuses for every new question I asked, so I directly told him that I knew this was a scam and that he would never get my $100.

At my words, he completely changed his tune, turning from a refined gentleman into an irate animal who started insulting me on all levels.

He called me stingy and said every agency takes money upfront, then attacked my writing, saying I had no idea what I was doing and would never earn a cent from writing if I didn’t accept his offer, and finally started cursing at my family and me.

I stayed calm because I realized I had struck a nerve and thrown him off balance, telling him I would report him to Telegram, Medium, and finally the police, and that I had saved all our correspondence (which was a bluff).

Within seconds, amidst curses and insults, he deleted all profiles and everything he had said to me, disappearing from the network.

So, to briefly sum up this scam:

  • The scammer creates a fake copy of a well-known profile on Medium.
  • They find an inexperienced victim and praise their writing in the comments, inviting them to a non-existent group of writers on Telegram or WhatsApp.
  • If the victim falls for the scam, the next step is to exploit their greed by promising large earnings from writing in a very short time, offering mentorship and assistance in writing within the group on Telegram.
  • If the victim is still interested, they explain the group’s rules and ask for a small fee of around $100 for group entry expenses.
  • If the victim hesitates, they belittle their writing, saying they will never succeed without this group.
  • If the victim pays the money, all profiles are deleted, and the scammers disappear in a flash. If the victim realizes it’s a scam, they are thoroughly insulted before the scammers flee and delete everything.

Conclusion

These are my experiences with scammers on Medium, and it would be very beneficial if the administrators took some action regarding this issue.

For the time being, we users are limited to blocking and reporting potential scammers and waiting for the administrators to respond. Until the administrator checks and blocks the potential scammer, there is still a chance for them to deceive someone.

I hope my article and the experiences I’ve been through will help new and inexperienced members spot the scammers in time, block them, and report them.

Trump: Messiah or Destroyer of the USA?

Is Trump the Messiah and savior of America, or will he be the cause of further divisions in American society that will ultimately lead to the destruction and downfall of the USA?

Introduction

Greetings, dear readers and loyal followers!

In the shadow of recent events in the USA, I could not remain silent and felt the need to put my thoughts on paper and share them with you.

As we all know, an assassination attempt was made on Mr. Trump, a presidential candidate in America, a few days ago. The attempt was made by Thomas Matthew Crooks, a twenty-year-old young man, or we could freely say a deluded or misled child.

The question that arises is: “How did it come to this, or more importantly, why did a twenty-year-old shoot at a presidential candidate?”

It is very difficult to know what was going on in that young man’s mind, so it is hard to answer why, but as for how it happened, we all more or less know because the internet and the media are generally overloaded with information about it.

In my opinion, the atmosphere in the USA has reached a boiling point, and the divisions that prevail are not a good path. It will get even worse if someone who wants to deepen these divisions further, like Trump, comes to power.

The elections have not even been held yet, and it is not yet known who will be the next president of the USA, already there has been a shooting and an assassination attempt, not by some force or organization, but by a lone young man, which in itself speaks to the seriousness of the situation.

When I was the age of Thomas Matthew Crooks, I was having fun in discos, chasing girls, and spending time with friends, and I had no idea about politics, nor was I interested in it.

Trump's Reaction to the Attempt of the Assassination

Trump should sit down and think about what he is doing to his people and his country if children are taking up guns and shooting at presidential candidates instead of engaging in childlike activities.

Instead of this assassination attempt making him reflect and perhaps change his rhetoric, he has grown wings and flies across America on newfound fame, like a new Messiah and savior of the American people.

People, when they find themselves in mortal danger, often completely change their attitudes and way of thinking, but not him, because he is now even firmer and more determined to become president, and his army of followers is intoxicated by his new fame and apparent immortality.

He now marches through America like a rock star or a Superhero who has managed to cheat death and presents the failed assassination as a sign that he is the chosen one and, that he will solve all of America’s problems and lead the American people to the promised land.

Right-wing Rhetorics

But woe to you Americans if he comes to power, for he is a right-wing, egotistical, and self-centered person who only looks out for his well-being and success, building his fame on hatred and racism towards those who do not think like him.

If you think things will get better, you are mistaken, because his rhetoric can lead you and your country to ruin, and the common man will never get what he wants but will get a uniform and a weapon for his sons, whom Trump will incite to fight against their fellow citizens.

You who live in America may not see all this, precisely because you are there and cannot be objective because you are in the midst of a storm, but we who live in the rest of the world see that a dark silhouette looms over you and you are on the brink of civil war.

What does History Say About This?

Just look at history, and you will see that all right-wingers are cut from the same cloth and that all right-wing ideologies are very similar.

You don’t have to look very far; just remember Germany in the Second World War and where their right-wing ideology led them, as both Nazism and Fascism belong to right-wingers.

Ideologies of hatred towards others and divisions cannot last long, but they can cause enormous damage to the people and the country that implements and supports them.

If America goes down that path, it will be very difficult to return from it, and there is a possibility of internal unrest, intolerance, and conflict because if the extreme right comes to power, they will very quickly want to deal with those who do not think like them and who they do not like, such as immigrants, minorities, etc.

And what do you think will happen to the world if the USA experiences internal conflicts, divisions, or even civil war?

Just remember the Roman Empire, which resisted barbarian invasions and all other enemies for thousands of years, but when internal discord arose, it collapsed like a house of cards.

The barbarians were just waiting at the borders for their moment, and when they saw the discord among the Romans, they all united from all sides, crushed the Roman Empire, and burned it to the ground.

The Dangers of The Civil War

America has created many enemies in the world with its constant wars, who are just waiting for a moment of insecurity and discord within the USA to launch a general attack, and if the fight is within the country, it will be impossible to defend it from external enemies.

With its constant involvement in conflicts around the world and playing the role of a global power or policeman, the USA is making enemies every day who just need a spark to ignite them and unite them in the fight against America.

So far, the only alternative to Trump has been Joe Biden, a gentleman in his eighties who realized he was too old and, at the urging of his people, passed the torch to the younger and more energetic Kamala Harris, an American politician, lawyer, and the current 49th Vice President of the United States.

She is a member of the Democratic Party and served as a senator from California from 2017 to 2021. She is the Democratic Party’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Although Kamala is not yet a formal candidate, she has received the support of the current president Biden, and the former one, Barack Obama, and his wife, Michelle.

Conclusion

So not all is lost, and there is hope for America and its people. It might be better and wiser to support a woman in the race for the US presidency and allow the country to be led by a woman for the first time.

The USA is a country built on foundations that respect diversity and democracy, and its strength and wealth lie in uniting and accepting diversity because it is a country with hundreds of nations and hundreds of religions, but they all have equal rights and can all call themselves Americans.

It would be a real shame if, due to the obsession with the ideology of one man who only wants power and control and doesn’t care about anyone but himself, the entire USA falls into a dark age of divisions and hatred or civil war.

How I Made Money on Amazon

Introduction

Hello, my dear readers and loyal followers!

As you can gather from the title, the topic of today’s article is making money online with the help of affiliate marketing through Amazon.

Let’s clarify something right from the start: this isn’t another article about the “secrets of affiliate marketing and special secret methods” intended to teach you how to do it.

The internet is full of such articles, and most of them are complete trash designed to lure clicks, likes, and views or sell you something.

Today, we will talk about my personal experience with affiliate marketing, my thoughts, the earnings I achieved, how much time and effort I put into it, and how profitable this market actually is.

First Encounter

My first encounter with the term “affiliate marketing” was about four to five years ago, and I heard it from my wife, who frequently came across it while surfing the internet looking for ways to make money online.

I had never heard the term before, and when my wife quickly explained what it was about, I became quite interested because, who wouldn’t want to make money quickly and easily online?

At least, it looked that way at first glance!

This is what an Affiliate Link looks like: https://amzn.to/3RujOfn

I grabbed my keyboard and started exploring the vast depths of the internet, and as you can imagine, after typing “Affiliate Marketing” into Google, I came across thousands of articles, videos, social media advice, etc.

At first, I was amazed by the sheer amount of advice and people willing to help me completely for free, with no charge, literally $0.00.

All these people, gurus, advisors, experts, and others in affiliate marketing were at my fingertips, just a click away, ready for me to use and learn all about the trade secrets. All I had to do was read, watch, or listen to their advice, and the money would start flowing!

Internet Gurus and Experts, Oh Those Wonderful People

Oh, how wonderful the internet seemed then, and how easy it was to make money online. If thousands of people were doing it so easily and quickly as they described in their articles or videos, I thought, I’m not any worse or dumber; I can do it too.

I read and watched everything I could find on the internet about this topic, and it seemed like such an easy way to make money that I wondered why more people weren’t getting into it when it was so simple.

Hundreds of YouTube gurus and blogger experts explained the affiliate marketing process in such a clear, simple, and accessible way that I was already counting my earnings and piling up money in my head.

“Create a blog, write a few articles, or make some videos, then stuff them with affiliate links and just wait for the clicks,” the gurus said.

“It’s the simplest form of passive income while you sleep, and it doesn’t require much effort; the money just flows,” the bloggers explained.

So, we naturally plunged into the world of affiliate marketing and decided to start our business through Facebook, YouTube, and our blog.

First Steps in the Affiliate World

The first thing I tried was Facebook because it seemed the easiest. You post a few posts with lots of affiliate links, and that’s it!

Boom!

The first bombshell surprise was that Facebook doesn’t allow affiliate links; you have to do it through private groups you create or drive traffic to your blog through non-affiliate links.

Okay, then we’ll create a group and a blog, and the money will start flowing!

After a short research, my wife and I created a Facebook group and started sharing links, but the blog was a more serious matter and required more knowledge and effort, of course.

While waiting for the money to start coming in on Facebook, we divided the tasks: I handled the technical part of the blog while my wife wrote articles. And we encountered new tough problems, as we did not know either.

We solved this by turning again to the almighty YouTube gurus and internet experts for advice on the topic.

As time went by, we encountered new problems at every step, and their solutions always required new videos and articles on various topics. Our “online business” turned into constant learning, 24/7.

Needless to say, we hadn’t earned a cent yet, even though we sometimes worked 10–12 hours a day!

Little by little, we began to realize that affiliate marketing wasn’t as easy as many advertised, and we understood that the vast majority of videos, articles, and social media posts were complete trash. These people were just trying to collect clicks, and likes, or sell us something.

I must mention that among all the trash you’ll find online, there are indeed people who create excellent and high-quality content and are genuinely dedicated to teaching you something. However, they are rare, and it takes a lot of effort to find them.

Learning, Learning, and More Learning

As we slowly progressed in the online world, the problems became bigger and harder, because affiliate marketing is a serious business and should be approached as such. If you’re starting as a complete beginner, you need to educate and prepare yourself for it.

Our Facebook and blog still weren’t bringing in money, as we discovered that it required a lot of visitor traffic, and we were still fresh and hadn’t managed to position ourselves on search engines.

Speaking of blog visitor traffic, I must tell you that to achieve this, you need knowledge of SEO optimization, which of course requires additional education and learning.

As you can see, at this stage, our online workday was still all about learning, and as we later realized, if you want to be competitive in the online business, learning must never stop.

With all the work we had with Facebook, the blog, and constant daily education, we decided to try YouTube, as we read or heard somewhere that it’s the fastest way to make money from affiliate marketing.

Of course, YouTube wasn’t the promised land of affiliate marketing either, and we didn’t manage to earn a cent from it, no matter how hard we tried, filmed, or edited videos.

You can imagine how our days looked, filled with writing, filming videos, and constant learning, still without earning a cent!!!

For some time, we struggled and worked hard, learning a ton of things, but the money just wasn’t coming, so we finally decided to explore other forms of online income and at least temporarily stop with affiliate marketing.

We simply weren’t ready, nor sufficiently educated on this topic, so the right time for affiliate marketing hadn’t come yet.

Money to the Roof

We turned to freelance, surveys, writing here on Medium, and cryptocurrencies, and I can freely say that we succeeded in all of them and made money.

What brought us the most money was, of course, cryptocurrencies, but everything else still contributes to our household budget. Just from surveys, we earn an average of $100–200 per month.

Affiliate marketing was thus on hold for several years, and I decided to give it another chance here on Medium.

Medium turned out to be an excellent, perhaps the best platform for writing so far, bringing me a steady income that isn’t very large but is always there.

Moreover, Medium has a completely open policy towards affiliate marketing and affiliate links within articles, so it seemed like a great place to try again and give it another shot.

My first affiliate commission was earned right here on Medium recently and very quickly after publishing an article!

This is the screenshot of my first Amazon Affiliate Commission and don’t worry it’s not so big:

the screenshot of my first Amazon Affiliate Commission
The screenshot of my first Amazon Affiliate Commission

I can freely say that what I couldn’t achieve on other platforms for years, Medium gave me in a very short period of a few months!

Conclusion

Affiliate marketing is a job, a real job that requires learning, effort, and time to achieve results, and it’s not one of those “get rich quick” schemes advertised by gurus.

The hardest thing to achieve, and unattainable for many people for various reasons in affiliate marketing, is generating enough visitor traffic so that some of those people click on the link and buy something through you, earning you a commission.

My article had no intention of discouraging you from this business; on the contrary, it aimed to encourage those who want to try, that effort will pay off, but don’t be fooled by lies about easy money.

Every job, including online work, requires sacrifice!

While workers in the real world struggle physically and get physically tired from work, don’t think that online work is much easier, as mental work that lasts for hours and days is sometimes far more exhausting and takes a greater toll on sleep and health!

Make an effort, and your effort will surely be rewarded!

In this article, you will find some links that are affiliate links. If you click on one of those links and buy something we will get a small fee, but that fee is not charged to you, instead it is paid to us by the product owner or reseller. This way you can buy excellent products researched and reviewed by us without any additional cost to you!

Your shopping with our help can be so much fun and a positive adventure because our motto is:

Save your nerves, and save your money,

shopping with us is so easy and funny!
