Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, Conspiracy Theorist

Meet Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, conservative right-winger, conspiracy theorist, and Trump’s loudest ally in Congress

Introduction

This Republican representative from Georgia is widely known to the American public for her sharp right-wing views and promotion of conspiracy theories, as well as for her statements on social media platforms like X.

(Some of those statements will be discussed later in this article.)

She is considered one of the most polarizing figures in contemporary American politics, often attracting attention with provocative remarks and uncompromising positions. fox5atlanta.com

Biography and Education of Marjorie Taylor Greene

Greene was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, in 1974 and grew up in an Atlanta suburb, where she helped out in her family’s construction business while still in high school. After graduating, she studied business administration at the University of Georgia, earning a degree in economics in 1996.

From 2007 to 2011, she served as the financial director of the family company. In 2013, she and a partner ventured into private enterprise by opening a CrossFit gym, which she eventually sold in 2016. Interestingly, before entering politics, she was active in fitness, competing in weightlifting and other sporting events. britannica.com

Ideology and Political Rise

Greene is well known to the American public for her radically right-wing views that promote antisemitism, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments, white-supremacist ideology, and “white genocide” conspiracy theories, such as QAnon and Pizzagate, which allege a Deep state cabal at the highest levels of government. One of her stated reasons for running for office was to combat and expose these conspiracies.

In her public appearances, she has often claimed that mass shootings — in Las Vegas, Charlottesville, New Zealand, and elsewhere — were staged “false flag” events designed to spread propaganda for gun control. fox5atlanta.com

She has also asserted that no plane hit the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and that the U.S. government blamed innocent victims for the attack. fox5atlanta.com

She has compared Democrats to German Nazis and likened COVID-19 safety measures to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust.

Before her congressional run, Greene supported calls for the execution of prominent Democratic politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. She has been vocal on immigration and religion, harshly criticizing Muslim members of Congress and American clergy for providing humanitarian aid to migrants, employing insults and stereotypes about race, religion, and sexual minorities in her rhetoric.

Politically, she rose quickly. As a hard-liner and vocal proponent of Trump’s MAGA movement, she immediately secured support from key Republican circles. She was first elected to Congress in 2020 to represent Georgia’s 14th district and reelected in 2024 in a landslide. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution describes her as one of Trump’s most persuasive and loyal allies in the House. ajc.com

Controversial Viral Statement

Although Greene is famous for her controversial public statements and social-media posts, we will focus here on her most recent viral remark, since covering all of them would be impractical.

Viral Hit: “Evil is being defeated”

One of her latest and most attention-grabbing statements came after the recent death of Pope Francis. On X, Greene wrote:

“Today, there were major shifts in global leaderships. Evil is being defeated by the hand of God.”

While she never explicitly named the pope, the post was widely understood as an allusion to his death and provoked outrage worldwide. fox5atlanta.com

The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights called for her censure in Congress. Its president, William Donohue, called Greene’s comments “bigoted” and accused her of defaming the head of the Catholic Church, urging lawmakers to publicly condemn her.

Conclusion

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s political activism can be interpreted in two ways. On one hand, her supporters see her as Trump’s voice in Congress — someone who stands firm against the establishment and sharply criticizes religious and political elites.

On the other hand, her extremism and conspiracy theories provoke outrage and concern, with the media labeling her “Trump with conspiracy theories.”

Such views raise a critical question: Should politicians who spread radical, offensive, and misleading messages have access to power and public office? Greene’s case illustrates the deep divisions in American society and the growing worry over conspiracy theories spreading among those in positions of authority.

Byron Donalds: Vanguard of the Black MAGA Movement

Introducing Byron Donalds and the new wave of Black Republicans championing Trump’s MAGA ideology

Source: https://donalds.house.gov/

This post can be read in Tocsin Magazine, and all Non-Medium members can read the full article here.

Introduction

Byron Donalds was born on October 28, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up as the son of a hardworking, caring, single mother.

He graduated from Nazareth Regional High School in Brooklyn and then studied finance and marketing at Florida State University, earning his degree in 2002. Before entering politics,

Donalds worked in banking, finance, and insurance in Southwest Florida.

Today, Donalds lives in Naples, Florida, with his wife, Erika, and their three children. (donalds.house.gov)

Worldview and Political Rise

Donalds is a member of the conservative wing of the Republican Party and is described as fiscally conservative, pro-life, and a staunch advocate for the right to bear arms.

He represents the “new wave of Black Republicans” who follow Trump’s conservative economic agenda and “family values” (politico.com)

One of the most prominent Black supporters of Trump, he is also a trusted speaker for the movement.

He entered politics as a Republican (briefly a Democrat before 2010), first serving in local government, and was then elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016 (District 80). In 2020, he won election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Florida’s 19th district. Since 2024. (cbsnews.com)

In February 2025, Donalds received personal support from Donald Trump for his candidacy for governor of Florida, aiming to succeed Ron DeSantis. (cbsnews.com)

Inappropriate Statements

Donalds was already known to the public for a controversial remark at a campaign rally in Philadelphia on June 6, 2024, where he claimed that “during Jim Crow, Black families were together” and that “more of them voted conservative” at that time. (politico.com)

In making this statement, Donalds appeared to suggest that before 1964, more Black voters leaned Republican, while overlooking the violence and injustices of Jim Crow. This sparked fierce reactions and criticism for seeming to romanticize a brutal era of segregation, both in the media and on X (formerly Twitter).A post on X

On X, reactions were divided — many users mocked his comment about “families during Jim Crow,” and some ironically noted that he seemed unaware of the real suffering of the past. Donalds responded that his opponents were “twisting his words and turning away voters” (thedailybeast.com), and a local outlet quoted him saying he only wanted to “provide context” (floridapolitics.com)

Recent Gaffes

Donalds again came under public scrutiny following a chaotic event on April 22, 2025, at Estero High School in Florida, where the congressman was answering questions from constituents. According to media reports, the event quickly descended into chaos, and two attendees were removed after shouting “Free Palestine” during questions about the Israel–Gaza war. (cbsnews.com)

Donalds commented that the disruptions “got out of control” and labeled some participants “rude” and “disrespectful” to others present. He was also heckled during questions on gun control measures, immigration, the work of DOGE, diversity programs, and tariffs. His defense of Trump’s policies frequently drew boos from the audience, leading to verbal confrontations.

Conclusion

All these controversial statements by Byron Donalds illustrate the intensity of polarization in American politics. On one hand, he is a legitimately elected public official whose messages reflect a segment of the electorate.

On the other hand, his sharp rhetoric often makes him a target of public and media criticism. Journalists and experts emphasize that politicians must be mindful of facts and sensitive topics, and such statements raise the question of whether his divisive rhetoric is more suitable for personal conversations than for a high political office.

Donalds has replied that he is being “taken out of context” and that critics are hypocritically interpreting his words (thedailybeast.com), but many argue that if he continues to adhere strictly to a dogmatic line and fails to meet public expectations, citizens should reconsider whether to entrust him with their votes.

J.D. Vance: From “Hillbilly Elegy” to U.S. Vice President — The Ohio Senator’s Meteoric Rise

Discover how Marine veteran and bestselling author J.D. Vance transformed his Appalachian roots into political power, shaping conservative policy in the Senate and as Vice President under Trump

This post can be read in Tocsin Magazine, and all Medium members can read the full article here.

Introduction

This young Republican politician was born James Donald Bowman on August 2, 1984, in Middletown, Ohio. He is the author of the bestseller “Hillbilly Elegy”, an attorney, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq. On January 20, 2025, President Trump appointed him the 50th Vice President of the United States.

Like any self-respecting conservative, he maintains a profile on X (formerly Twitter), where he frequently comments on his own and President Trump’s actions. He is prone to bombastic statements — much like his idol and mentor, Trump — often sparking heated debates on X and producing viral tweets.

Childhood and Education of J. D. Vance

Vance is often cited as an example of political and professional success, having come from humble beginnings. He was raised by his maternal grandparents — his “mamaw” — after his mother struggled with addiction; he has frequently praised their “tough love” upbringing.

After graduating from high school in Middletown, he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including combat duty in Iraq. He then excelled academically, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from The Ohio State University in 2009, followed by a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Yale Law School in 2013. Wikipedia Encyclopedia Britannica.

Upon completing his studies, Vance worked as an investor in tech companies while building a profile as a political commentator, writing essays for conservative media. In Hillbilly Elegy, he described the severe economic and social problems of Appalachia, attracting significant public attention.

Political Rise

Vance’s trajectory has been swift: from a moderate young Republican to a leading figure in the MAGA movement (with Trump as the first “face” of MAGA and Vance as the second). He and President Trump now jointly lead the America First ideology and the broader MAGA movement in the U.S., and they are seeking to export their ideas globally.

Vance frequently travels — both for business and privately — visiting places as diverse as Greenland, where his remarks about U.S. sovereignty over the world’s largest island were met with a cool reception, and recently, the late Pope Francis in Vatican City.

Although he once expressed skepticism toward Trump — calling him “America’s Hitler” and accusing him of being “far removed from the fundamental principles of American democracy” — Vance reversed course after 2016 and became one of Trump’s staunchest allies.

His backing helped him win a U.S. Senate seat in Ohio in 2022. According to the White House, as senator, he championed “a more secure southern border, the revival of American manufacturing, and the prosperity of working-class families.”

The pinnacle of his political ascent, “so far,” is his vice presidency. Many global politicians and analysts regard J. D. Vance as Trump’s heir apparent and a likely future President of the United States — a destiny for which Trump and the Republican Party are said to be grooming him.

Worldview and Ideology of James David Vance

Vance’s political worldview can be classified as conservative, right-wing populism with strong nationalist overtones — often described as authoritarian populism. He frequently emphasizes his advocacy for “forgotten Americans” and the working class, criticizing globalism and cultural liberalism. He supports strict immigration policies and tariffs to boost domestic manufacturing.

Culturally, Vance is a vocal opponent of “woke” ideology in education and academia. He has openly praised the more authoritarian measures of leaders such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. In May 2024, on CBS’s Face the Nation, he said that Orbán had made “some smart decisions” about state control of universities, and that the U.S. “could learn something” from those policies.

Academic associations warned that Vance once labeled university professors as “enemies” and lauded Orbán’s transformation of Hungarian higher education, warning that it signaled an intention to turn American education into a tool of political ideology. On social media, critics derided Orbán as a “neo-fascist” and cautioned against celebrating a leader convicted of attacks on press freedom. aaup.org

Within political circles, Vance is grouped with the so-called “new right” and counted among the close associates of Peter Thiel, the conservative tech investor. Their views lean toward authoritarianism rather than classical liberalism.

International media and experts note that his positions — from controlling higher education to anti-activist policies — reflect the GOP’s “culture wars” and will strongly influence the party’s direction throughout 2025. Unusually, he has transformed from an elite insider (Yale Law, venture capital) into a champion of fringe conservative ideas and state intervention in society.

Controversial Statements by J. D. Vance

On Fox News, Vance defended Trump’s tariffs by arguing that America was “borrowing money from Chinese peasants to buy what those Chinese peasants produce,” claiming such a model does not ultimately benefit U.S. workers.

This remark provoked widespread criticism in China, around the world, and at home; a tweet on X went viral with thousands of mostly negative responses.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian called the comment “surprising and sad,” deeming Vance’s words “unscientific and rude.”

More recently, in one of his most viral Tweets, on his X profile, Vance referred to a deported Maryland man named Abrego Garcia as a “convicted MS-13 gang member,” despite no court records supporting that claim.

On April 26–27, during a visit to the Sistine Chapel with Pope Francis, Vice President Vance ignored the Vatican’s ban on photography and videography inside the chapel. Photos later appeared on X, leading to backlash and comments labeling his behavior “GREATLY DISRESPECTFUL,” along with a flood of negative remarks.

Conclusion

Vance’s journey from rural Appalachia to the vice presidency is a compelling American success story — but his controversial statements raise serious questions about his suitability for the nation’s highest offices.

Media analysts note that populist figures often use sharp rhetoric to attract attention. Yet critics warn that remarks like “Chinese peasants” can alienate allies, harm international relations, and damage the U.S. diplomatic reputation.

Some conservative commentators also argue it is inappropriate for the vice president to publicly praise authoritarian methods, fearing it signals a willingness to breach democratic norms. Supporters counter that his bluntness shows genuine concern for ordinary citizens and that in today’s political climate, hard-hitting remarks are not uncommon.

Ultimately, the judgment of J. D. Vance’s fitness for the vice presidency will depend on whether voters and his party base value his humble origins and “realistic” perspectives more than they criticize his tactlessness and controversial style.
